Memorial Gardens at St. Stephen’s
To lovingly remember those we have lost, St. Stephen’s maintains two separate Memorial Gardens, one for cremated human remains (adjacent to the Rev. Lynn Jay Peace Chapel), and a second garden dedicated to pet memorials (located off the main parking lot).
Both offer tranquil, meditative areas for prayer and reflection.
The Memorial Garden
This attractive resting place accepts cremated human remains interred in conjunction with a funeral at St. Stephen’s or separately at a later time. Please contact the church office if you have questions or wish to make arrangements.
Pet Memorial Garden
This lovely and tranquil garden was installed off our parking lot as a service project by our Youth Group in 2015, and dedicated October of that year.
Pets may be memorialized with the placing of an engraved stone with the pet’s name. Memorial Stone orders are placed through the parish office and charged at actual cost. A small fee is added for upkeep of garden and to assist our Youth Group with their various ministries.
Cremated remains of small pets may be interred in the garden with the prior parish permission; check with the Office. Upon request, Rev. Kelly may preside over a brief memorial service for a beloved pet being entered into the garden at a stone laying.
