Godly Play
For our Sunday School, we offer Godly Play, a Montessori-based religious curriculum, to all our children in kindergarten through 5th grade.
It takes place upstairs in the lounge on most Sundays in the school year, and begins at 10:30 AM. After Sunday School, the children are returned to their parents in the sanctuary during the "Peace" to finish the service.
Godly Play uses stories with manipulatives to guide the children as they use their own personal experiences, ideas and innate spirituality to gain religious language and a deeper spiritual meaning. After the story, the children then use crafting and art materials of their choosing, giving them a chance to engage in deeper meaning as they work with their hands and thoughtfully process the story and how it relates to their own lives. Feel free to come some Sunday and experience a Godly Play story with your children.
